The last two weeks saw plenty of activities for all ages throughout the club with matches and blitzes held at various venues around north cork.
U14 Hurling&Football.
Last Saturday week our U14s traveled to Doneraile to play their second game in the football league and again put in a very good performance but came up short against a very good Doneraile outfit. This Saturday they play St.Marks away in the hurling league with a 1pm throw in time.

U13 Hurling&Football.
Our u13s welcomed Millstreet to Shanballymore last Monday night for the first game in this years hurling league and after some good play from both teams it was Millstreet who ran out winners in the end, we were very unlucky for a few goals in this game and their keeper bought off some great saves to help them to victory in the end.

The lads were due to play Doneraile in the hurling league last Monday night but this game was called off and will be refixed for a later date.
U12 Hurling&Football.
The U12s played host to Buttevant in the football league and the two teams served up a great game of football with some excellent skill on show, a great feature of this game was the hand passing and kick passing from both teams and their was some very good scores aswell to keep the supporters entertained, the u12 hurling and football leagues are run on the go games system which means it’s based on fun with players encouraged to play in different positions and learn the skills of the game while enjoying themselves with no emphasizes on winning. They have two game this week against Clyda Rovers in the football league which took place last night Wednesday the 8th in Shanballymore and tonight Thursday the 9th they travel to Buttevant to play a refixed hurling league game (report on both games next week).

U10 Hurling&Football.
Our U10s took part in the first go games blitz of the year last Saturday week when they traveled to Ballyhooly and played three great games against Fermoy, Araglin and Killshannig, all the games were very close with plenty of scores and lots of skill on show, these blitzes are very well organised by the rebel og board and credit must go to Noel Crowley for the time and effort he puts into these blitzes, also a big thanks to the Ballyhooly club who had everything in great order on the day and to all clubs who took part, we had a great turnout of players and it promises to be a great year for this very talented group.

This Saturday its hurling for this group when they travel to Fermoy to play three games with the first starting at 10.30am the second at 11am and the third at 11.30am, all games are two halves of ten minutes and are run on the GPS games format, all parents will receive a text with details.
U6-U8.
Our U8s had a break last weekend due to the Easter holidays but will be back playing Saturday week when they take part in a hurling blitz at a north cork venue, parents will be text with time date and venue information over the next few days, meanwhile training will continue every Wednesday evening from 7-8pm in the local gaa field, all kids must have mouthgaurds for football, hurley and a helmet for hurling and bring their own drink.
Our u6s have been busy fun training for the last few weeks and are concentrating on football skills, they also enjoy playing lots of fun games while playing small sided games in a fun and enjoyable way, they will soon play their first game of the year and it will be great to see the stars of the future in the red and black jersey.

BAG PACKING.
Last Friday and Saturday Shanballymore juvenile gaa club took part in bag packing in Dunnes stores in Mallow and this helped raise some much needed funds for the club, we had a great response from the parents and their was plenty of bag packers to help out on the two days, a big thanks must go to Dunnes in mallow for the opportunity to raise funds and also to all the shoppers who gave so generously over the two days. All the funds raised will be put to good use with plenty of new training gear being purchased over the next few weeks.
