VICTORY IN DIVISION 3 HL

Helped by two second half goals by our keeper Johnathan Linehan who moved out field in the second half was the real in this keenly contested Division 3 HL game at Shanballymore.

Exchanges were close all through with defences in control. Good work by Darren Roche led to our opening score by Vincie Burke. Mid way through the half Johnathon denied a certain goal. We went on to finish the half strong with two points by Vincie and a pointed free by his brother Paul which left the score at half time 0-5 to 0-4 in favour of us.

Johnathon moved out field in place of the injured Dylan O Callaghan with Niall Barry going in goal to start the second half. Early points by Vince and David Twomey with the point of the night had us 0-7 to 0-4 clear. In the 47th minute Paul Burke cut through the Ballygiblin rearguard and placed Johnathon for a goal that opened up a double scores lead. Good work by Mick Donovan and the ever crafty Paul lead to a second Johnathon goal  that sealed victory by a seven point margin.
