Medal Presentation & Celebration this Saturday night:
Our History making 2017 Div3 Hurling League Champions will be honoured this Saturday night when they will receive their League Medals. We are keeping our celebrations local this year and look forward to a big crowd at The Corner House Bar Shanballymore when we’ll reminisce on some of the great games from 2017 that lead to this Div 3 Success and look forward to 2018 and what may lay in store for the year ahead; This is always a great time of year for all clubs full of home and promise…. A great night is in store with DJ Mike Palmer on the decks spinning the tunes and other refreshments laid on.
First Competitive Fixtures of 2018….
Competitive action resumes this coming weekend for Shanballymore with our footballers first into the fray (Hurling Leagues planned to start in Late March). In the Avondhu Div2 Football League Shanballymore are down to Play host to Kilshannig on Sunday next February 25th at 2:30 pm in Shanballymore. The Following Sunday Shanballymore Footballers are billed to play Ballyhooly away again on the Sunday (4th Mar) at 2:30 pm. As with all fixtures this time of year they are very dependent on Weather and Pitch playability so please before travelling to any games give a check on our facebook page where any information on Fixture Changes or updates will be posted.
Shanballymore GAA Table Quiz:
To get the year up and running the Shanballymore GAA Fundraising committee of Padraig Fitzgerald, Brian Sheedy, Barry Enright, Colman O’Reilly & Alan Sheedy organized a monster Table Quiz in the Shanballymore Community Centre. It was great to see the event supported so well with the Hall full to Capacity on the night. A great nights entertainment was had by all; Topping the charts on the night were Pat, Richard and Helen McCarthys team. Taking Silver were John and Niall Barrys team and Bronze on the night John, Teresa and Pat O’Donovan.
Win the League Win the Car Draw:
Selling is going very well for the Cavanaghs of Fermoy Win the League Win the Car Draw With Kenneth Barry and his team of organisers and Sellers putting a great effort in each night getting out selling over the last number of weeks. So Keep an eye out or make contact and make sure to get your name in the hat for a chance to win a fantastic brand new Ford Fiesta Car or one of the significant cash prizes on offer. Tickets are 20 euros for 1 or a book of 3 for 50 euro. Keep an eye out as the sellers move door to door or reach out to any member of the club executive to secure your tickets.

Snap Chat Sensation Buff Egan “Lashed it off the Belly” and nailed his colors to the mast supporting Shanballymore for this years Championship!!– Capiche – On his recent trips to Newbridge for Cork Vs Kildare and Pairc Ui Chaoimh for Cork Vs Killkenny he was spotted looking “Tantalizing” decked out in the Famous Black and Red headgear…….. Kenmare must be a Shanballymore Stronghold!! And you can’t teach that…..Hopefully we won’t be crying out this year “Who’s in Midfield” and we’ll see “Stallions” out there…!! With So many children using our Training area and GAA Pitch on a weekly basis a reminder to all patrons that bring Dogs to the GAA Fields and especially the 2 or 3 people who regularly forget to collect up after them…you need to collect up after them or else leave them at home….
