Last Wednesday night Ballygiblin came to Shanballymore and gained the two league points on offer with a very impressive display of hurling which saw them totally blitz an understrength home team who unfortunately due to work and injuries were short a number of first team regulars.
Playing against the wind in the first half we were always up against it as Ballygiblin raced into a ten point half time lead 0-12 to 0-2 and things did not improve for us in the second half as they kept the pressure on with some very well taken points and added a goal five minutes from the end to finish the game as a contest, this was not an ideal way to prepare for the upcoming county championship game against Lough Rovers but with a few weeks to this game we should have a full strength and fit squad to pick from to hopefully kick start our championship with a win.
