U14 FOOTBALL LEAGUE KICKS OFF

Last Saturday week our U14s kicked off the football league when they traveled to play Killavullen and in a hard fought game in windy conditions we were very unlucky to come away with a 8pt loss.

We were well on top in the first half with the wind at our backs and had chances to go in at half time with a lead but again the boys were unlucky with some close wides, at half time the teams were level and we knew it was going to be tough against the elements in the second half but the lads ran themselves in to the ground and the game was in the balance with a few minutes remaining but unfortunately Killavullen got three soft goals in quick succession to run out winners in the end.

This was a great performance from the boys and they showed that they can play some good football when they put there mind to it, we were short a few of our stronger players on the day so hopefully we will have a full squad for our next outing against Doneraile in a few weeks.

Final score: Killavullen 4-6 Shanballymore 1-7.

TEAM: Jordan O’Grady, Shane Palmer, Ryan Dellasandro, Padraig Burke, Billy Butler, Jake Buckley, Muris O’Connell, Josh Collins, Kevin Barry, Charlie Jebb, Dean Carey, Shane Looney.
