Highlight of your GAA career to date? Winning the U21 double in 2009,

 

Favourite thing about our club? The camaraderie between the lads, and joy it brings to the older people when we win championship games #DanRoache

 

Do you remember your first game for Shanballymore? Not really, think it was a hurling league game against Araglen played in Araglen.

 

Other interests outside of the GAA? Rugby, darts, soccer, most sports

 

Which sports person would you most like to meet? Nick “The Honey Badger” Cummins or Ronan O Gara

 

Favourite sporting memory? Munster and All blacks game in 2008, Munster doing the Haka; best atmosphere ever. Standing on the Field in Croke Park , 2005 with Seán Óg giving that famous speech.

 

A sporting event you would most like to attend? World darts in the Ali Paly, Super Bowl.

 

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Learn every time you take to the field.

 

What advice would you give to younger players? Practice hitting and kicking the ball off both sides.

 

You may not know this but “I’m good at”? Cooking and annoying people

Growing up my favourite hurler was? Seánie McMahon – Clare, Ronan Curran – Cork

 

Growing up my favourite footballer was? Ciaran McDonald and Colin Corkery

 

If there was one thing you would change about the GAA, what would it be? This relates to smaller clubs with smaller group of player.  Clubs should name 15 players at the start of the year that can only play “First team” and the rest can play with the “second team”.  Even if “second team player” plays first team championship game then they should still be aloud play second team. That way the second team will still have numbers and gives all players in the club a chance of playing during the summer months and the club wont get fined for not being able to field games.

 

If you owned a race horse what would you call it? The Final Hurdle

 

In ten years time I hope to be? Fit, healthy, still playing and a few more medals in my pocket.
