Honours: U-16 North Cork football and hurling Dr. Crokes, Minor hurling North Cork Dr. Crokes, Minor hurling North Cork and county Mill Rovers, Colleges B county Nagle rice, Division 2 hurling league with SBM, Junior B North Cork football

 

Highlight of your GAA career to date? Being captain of club and winning league final.

 

Favourite thing about our club? Good mix between players young and old.

 

Do you remember your first game for Shanballymore? Yip, football league game in Churchtown on a miserable rainy day

 

Other interests outside of the GAA? Golf, soccer, horse racing, Las Vegas…

 

Which sports person would you most like to meet? Tierry Henry

 

Favourite sporting memory? SBM winning the North Cork in 1996, Ireland beating Italy 1-0 in USA 94, Ray houghton lobbing Pagliuca – unreal

 

A sporting event you would most like to attend? El Classico, Augusta masters

 

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Never give up, it’s your head will get you the ball not your legs!!!

 

What advice would you give to younger players? Practice practice practice

 

You may not know this but “I’m good at”? Losing money on soccer accumulators

 

Favourite Film? Oceans eleven

 

Favourite TV show? CSI, Love Hate

 

Favourite book? Seabiscuit

 

Toughest opponent at training? Brian Barry because he would never stop moving or Barry my brother because he must have flattened me half a dozen times at training

 

Growing up my favourite hurler was? Wayne Sherlock

 

Growing up my favourite footballer was? Maurice Fitzgerald

 

If there was one thing you would change about the GAA, what would it be? The schedule is all wrong, small teams suffer

 

If you owned a race horse what would you call it? Fast Horse

 

In ten years time I hope to be? Fit and healthy retired from GAA and watching my boys playing GAA

 

And finally who’s the longest in the shower? Jamie or Shaun Cronin….but I like a good long soak myself
