2017 comes to an end with a trip to Pairc Ui Chaoimh and Dr. Morris Park Thurlas.
Under 8:
Our Under 8’s made the journey to the newly developed Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday the 14th of October to compete in their last blitz of the year.
In the first game we played Kiltha Og, This was a really enjoyable game with Caoimhe, Sean, Rory and Niall showing some great skill and scoring ability. In the second game, we played St Finbarrs. Indya, Daniel, Luke and Kash played really well throughout the game. In the third and final match, we played Mayfield. Jamie, Cian, Will and Eoin really showed their array of skills, with some fine passing and scoring. All these games were played to the highest of standard at this age level. The kids put on a great show for all the parents and supports at the game. A great day was had by all players and supports.
Panel: Will Ladd Finn, Rory and Niall Murray, Sean Barry, Cian Sheedy, Daniel Sheedy Eoin Sheedy, Luke Burke, Caoimhe Looney, Indya and Kash Swarc and Jamie Burke.
A special thanks to Stephen Donegan, Louise Twomey and Alan Sheedy for their time and effort throughout the year.
Under 10:
Also on Saturday the 14th our under 10’s got a bus to Dr. Morris Park Thurlas to compete in Munster Go games hurling Blitzes. This was a very well run competition and was great to be part of. Our players thoroughly enjoyed this experience of playing teams outside of North Cork. On the day we played Pallasgreen, Cappoquin and Banner GAA club from Ennis. Playing these teams was another step up but a challenge our players rose to as they won two out of the three games played. Both Lorcan and Peter who both played in goals at various times pulled of some brilliant saves and their pucks found their team mates every time. Outside them, Daniel was again very solid and is getting better with every game. Aine was again ever reliable and cleared her lines time and time again. Rory who was playing very well at the time, got a nasty injury and couldnt play for the rest of the day. Cian midfield worked his socks of for the three game and his partner Jack kept the scoreboard ticking over. Luke like his brother also got on the score board. Gavin was again in fine form in front of goals, Nathan like Cian worked his socks off and also got on the score board. Adam was out in front for very ball and never gave his marker a chance.
A special thanks to Mick Sheedy of Sheedy Quarries and Plant Hire & George Murray of North Cork Coaches who kindly helped sponsor and provided the bus for a trip to Thurlas. Thanks to all that traveled and helped to make this trip a memorable one. Thanks to all the players who gave us some great entertainment during the 3 games played.
Panel: Jack and Luke Twomey, Rory Dempsey, Cian Looney, Lorcan Murray, Aine Burke, Peter O’Keeffe, Nathan Murray, Daniel McGuickin, Gavin Barrett & Adam O Brien.
